Are you one of those people who has been “cursed” with a
small closet? Or, maybe you have a decent-sized closet but too many clothes. While the easy answer would be to get rid of some of your clothing items, you don’t necessarily have to do that. There are many “secret spots” in which you can store clothing and shoes within your home! It just takes a little ingenuity and creativity.
Remember when you were a kid and you used to hide things under your bed? Well, turns out that’s a pretty good strategy for storing excess clothing. If you buy a few bins or other organizers that can fit under your bed, you’ve suddenly got a brand new storage spot for out-of-season clothing or items you wear less frequently.
If you have a laundry room, it can also become a convenient storage spot. Install a clothing rod at the top of the space to hang extra items. Or, get creative and tuck storage containers into available nooks and crannies.
Depending on how your home is set up, there may be a convenient spot where you can add in a new closet without disrupting the structure or layout of your home. Many people, for example, will add closets under their stairs or next to their front doors. Scope out your house for a spot where a closet could easily be added.
If these ideas are a little too creative for you, or, if you’ve tried them and still don’t have enough space, then it may be time to hire a home organization expert .
